SK-II TOKYO OLYMPICS
Microsoft Mixed Reality Studios in Collaboration with Huge, Inc. for SK-II

Microsoft Mixed Reality Studios joined forces with experience design and digital marketing agency Huge to create an immersive holographic story experience for skincare retailer SK-II’s installation in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Pavilion. I led the Microsoft team in production of the proof-of-concept (POC), which won Mixed Reality Studios its largest-ever production contract.
The POC produced mixed reality design and engineering strategies for adapting SK-II’s #nocompetition video campaign into an immersive, interactive, holographic experience. #nocompetition follows female Olympians in their battles against toxic beauty standards. The POC explored Simone Biles’ fight against body-shaming trolls through a mixed reality comic book and kaiju battle.
