A collaboration between 8ninths, Madison Mountaineering, Panogs, Endemol Shine Beyond USA, and Sports Illustrated, Capturing Everest is a groundbreaking virtual reality documentary of a 2016 Everest summit. The VR experience follows three extraordinary mountaineers,documenting their inner and outer journey to the mountain's summit. Using new creative and technical approaches to 360 storytelling, the team captured both the intensity and the authenticity of the mountain like never before. The four-part VR documentary is distributed by Sports Illustrated through Time Inc.'s Life VR app. Capturing Everest VR won a 2018 Emmy Award for Digital Innovation.
